Hogarth House MuseumA Private
Collection of Antique Arms & Armour Open to the public To study the history of weapons is to study the history of mankind and, indeed, of civilization itself. For it was man's ability to make and use tools (weapons) which enabled him to hunt more effectively, defeat his enemies and secure his environment. With this new found security came permanent settlement along with the domestication of plants and animals. This reliable food supply in turn provided the leisure time required to develope the trappings of civilization; art, architecture, law, literature, the sciences, etc. Hogarth House contains a unique collection of original antique weapons displayed in an interesting and historic manner.
